Bad Strategy

This is the closing paragraph from an article in Rolling Stone by Matt Taibbi on the subject of Hillary's testimony this week before congress. He fears that the process ended up making Hillary look "normal" which he obviously believes she is not.
"Having to face down that absurd accusation will humanize Hillary anew with a Democratic electorate that had begun to wonder what she really stood for. Now she's not an aristocrat who takes money from Goldman and Citi, she's a symbol of a majority demographic that is officially tired of being told it isn't American enough. You can't put a price on the ad the Republicans gave Hillary Thursday. I think they won her the White House."

One of the definitions of eclectic is deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources. I have a very eclectic group of friends, including here on FB. I like that. I will not unfriend you just because you might not believe or think like I do. I will not think you are an idiot if you post that you are going to vote for this or that person. I like who I am and I like who you are. I do believe in the saving Grace of Jesus Christ but it is ok if you don't. I won't think any less of you. I will pray for you. I hope you are not offended about that but it is ok if you are offended. The only time I will consider us not friends is when you personally attack me or someone else in a public place, simply because of who they are or what they believe or who they are going to vote for.
Just a few rambling thoughts on a dreary Friday afternoon.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and I pray people will stop spending so much time hating and being pissed off.

America - Not too bad

I keep hearing all these politicians talk about making America great again. My question is how do we measure greatness? I think it is a pretty great time to be an American. I definitely have it as good as my parents and better than either sets of grandparents. I dang sure would not want to have lived in the 19th century. Early 20th century would have been ok but then came the depression, dust and war. 60's nah, 70's definitely no. Since then, maybe. Now? Not bad at all. Could be better but not bad at all.
